Virtual Green announced Monday it had partnered with Golf Channel to bring its indoor golf technology into studio shows beginning this month. Golf Channel’s on-air talent and instructors will use Virtual Green’s adjustable, automated putting surfaces as part of the network’s programming.
The new putting green in Golf Channel’s main studio can create multiple breaks on the same putting surface, mimicking breaks on different greens and side hill and uphill lies. Thousands of data pinpoints within the floor make it adjustable to whatever kind of shift in the landscape is needed for the simulation.
“Virtual Green’s putting green technology gives our on-air talent and our team of instructors a fresh and new dynamic for in-studio instructional content,” Kevin Schultz, Golf Channel senior director of lifestyle content and instruction, said in a statement.

For shows such as Morning Drive, The Golf Fix and School of Golf, that means more realistic indoor putting. The technology will also be integrated into Golf Channel Digital’s library of instruction programming on GolfChannel.com and the Golf Channel Academy app.
