One lucky Bay Area resident on Friday will get the opportunity to stay over at Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant’s gallery experience through Airbnb. Sponsored by Airbnb and Nike, the gallery in San Francisco celebrates Durant’s journey through his beginnings in AAU, Maryland, and his professional career.
In order to be chosen, you had to have an Airbnb account and apply to be a participant. Under the “Enter to win” category found on the Airbnb website, applicants had to say a bit about themselves, where they live and answer Durant’s question: “Tell me what I am going to love the most about living in the Bay?”

The winner was chosen Monday by a panel of judges that was comprised of members of the marketing teams of the sponsors or a consultant chosen by the sponsors. The winner also received Warriors tickets, Nike products, two meals and round trip game transportation.
Durant, who signed as a free agent with the Warriors, will make his regular season debut with the team on Tuesday in Oakland.
The contest is not only beneficial to Durant and fans, but also Airbnb, which is based out of San Francisco. There has been tension as Airbnb sued the city and lawmakers considering restrictions on rentals in private homes, but the company has also been playing nice.
