GameOn Merges Content And Passion With Real-Time Fan Communication

When it comes to defending your fandom, do you have a way with words? Do you want to be connected with other like-minded people who share the passion and heart for your hometown team? The GameOn app makes it easier to let everyone know who you are rooting for and articulate your passion.

GameOn, free on the iTunes and Google Play stores, is a content based messaging platform that combines real-time scores, news, highlights with original stickers/emojis, as well as chat rooms, to create a merged experience for sports fans. The app also creates a direct channel for content providers, entertainers, and current and former professional athletes to grow and better engage with their audience around sports.

In the app users will find various Huddles: a community space where friends and fellow fans can come together to follow a common sports interest. They are created by any registered user and found by doing a public search or accepting private invites from others. Once in a Huddle, there is a chat section where relevant game updates, news, and highlights are entered into the conversation by Bots.

“Fans from all over the world can join me and talk about their favorite team’s, best plays, and, of course, a bunch of trash talk,” said rapper and actor Snoop Dogg in a quote provided by GameOn representatives. Their app is actively used by a growing number of well-known celebrities and high-profile athletes like Joe Montana and Gary Payton.

Kalin Stanojev, Founder and CPO of GameOn, says this is much more than just another form of social media like Twitter, Facebook, or Overtime.Screen Shot 2016-07-26 at 7.52.21 AM

“While we do have some similarities with these platforms, most of our ‘competitors’ operate on either a broadcast model, where content is pushed outwards and communication is typically one-way, or a purely social model where communication exists between users but content is sourced elsewhere,” Stanojev said in an email to SportTechie. “We’ve woven these features together into unified experience that leverages the best of both and is a win for users and content providers alike.”

GameOn plans to become the ideal mobile solution for existing communities to better engage with each other over real-time events. Coming this fall, they will expand the content verticals supported, such as eSports, lifestyle outlets, and more.
