Formula E And Grabyo Partner To Bring Finals To Facebook Live

Formula E will be broadcasting it’s 2015-16 finale through Facebook Live.

The new developments came to fruition thanks to software company, Grabyo – an official live streaming partner of Facebook – who will deliver the live footage through their streaming technology.

In recent months Facebook has brought in a popular new addition known as Facebook Live. Already we have seen sports around the world take advantage of the new tool, broadcasting team warm-ups, post-match interviews and practice sessions.

Formula E will be using Grabyo throughout the entire race week, streaming practice sessions, qualifying races and finals. The stream will feature full commentary with graphics and will also include a fan chat-show. Fans will be able to watch the live stream in twenty regions, including Russia, Malaysia, India and Spain by visiting www.facebook.com/fiaformulae

“Formula E has already won awards for its digital content and commitment to taking the sport to a new, younger audience”, said Ali Russell, Director of Media and Strategic Partnerships at FIA Formula E. “Streaming the races to Facebook, which is our largest social media channel, is a logical extension of this. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what reception this gets.”

Grabyo has one of the world’s strongest reputations in the field of live streaming technology, hence their association with the largest social media platform in the world, Facebook.

“Throughout the past two years, Grabyo’s partnership with Formula E has ensured fans have an unparalleled opportunity to watch the best moments of racing action, right as it happens”, said Gareth Capon, CEO of Grabyo. “Formula E is a progressive, innovative rights holder and by sharing real-time, instant highlights to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, including mobile-focused content in vertical and square video formats, Formula E is leading the market for video publishing through Grabyo.”

With Facebook’s global reach and Grabyo’s technology, Formula E can definitely expect a boost in fan interest as a result of this partnership.

“We are excited to broadcast this exciting season finale live to Facebook, allowing fans greater access than ever before to the Championship, and supporting Formula E as they reach out to a new audience across the platform.”
