For 2016 Season, Stream NFL Games On Verizon Without Using Data

For the first time, every single NFL game will be live streamed during the 2016-17 season.

As Week 1 gets underway, Verizon customers have another reason to celebrate, with the league’s Official Wireless Service Provider giving users the ability to stream local and primetime games without using any cellular data.

Through the NFL Mobile app on Verizon, fans can watch games anytime, anywhere. It will include games on CBS, NBC, ESPN, FOX and NFL Network. Customers can also make a $1.99/mo. in-app purchase for NFL RedZone, too.

According to a New York Post article in February, Verizon is looking to renew its NFL partnership before it expires after Super Bowl 51. It paid a reported $1 billion for its four-year deal in 2013.

The (NFL) wants to tie (Thursday streaming rights) to an extension of Verizon’s NFL sponsorship and its $1 billion exclusive lock on mobile,” a source told The Post.

Earlier this year, Twitter beat out both Amazon and Verizon for global live streaming rights to the NFL’s Thursday Night Football games. The deal — which Recode reported at a little under $10 million — includes the same 10 games broadcast on CBS and NBC.
