FloSports Rapid Expansion Now Includes Football

FloSports, a live-streaming service typically dedicated to covering less prominent sports such as jiu-jitsu and gymnastics, has decided to foray into football. The company announced the launch of FloFootball, where FloSports will live-stream games from The Spring League, USA Football and high school circuits.

“Today’s announcement illustrates our commitment to building and maintaining the world’s leading direct-to-consumer experience for all sports fans,” said FloSports CEO Martin Floreani in a statement. “Football is arguable the most popular sport in the country, but it lacks consistent and comprehensive live coverage across all levels of the sport, and we believe our model can fill this gap.”

This coincides with FloSports’ recent expansion towards basketball and mixed martial arts coverage through their subsidiaries FloHoops and FloCombat.

FloFootball will air on July 15, The Spring League Showcase from Napa, Calif. The Spring League is made up of teams whose roster spots are filled with players vying to obtain a slot on an NFL or CFL roster.

Former 49ers running back Anthony Dixon, former Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy and former Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson are some of the former NFL players who will be at the showcase, competing for a chance to return to professional football.

“FloSports will provide The Spring League with the ideal direct-to-consumer platform to live stream out Showcase game to a global fan base,” The Spring League CEO Brian Woods said in a statement. “We’re excited to build off the success from our inaugural season in April and provide an additional opportunity for free agents ahead of NFL training camps.

As part of this agreement, FloFootball will also air USA Football’s 7-on-7 National Championship tournaments in July from Hoover, Alabama and Canton, Ohio, in addition to a series of high school football games in the fall that feature a few of the country’s top recruits.
