FloSports Launches New Apps For Roku, Apple TV


FloSports, which provides live streaming of a variety of sports, announced new apps that are available on the Roku and Apple TV platforms. This will give give subscribers the ability access on their televisions live events, documentaries, highlights and other original content across its network of sport web sites.

Cisco Infinite Video Platform, a cloud service platform for operators and broadcasters to process and distribute premium video on a consumer device, is powering the new FloSports apps. This will allow FloSports to offer a complete multi-screen experience for its users.

“As the leading direct-to-consumer sports media network, FloSports is committed to providing die-hard sports fans more content on more platforms across all devices,” FloSports co-founder and CEO Martin Floreani said in a statement. “(This) news gives the leagues, governing bodies and other rights holders we partner with the ability to showcase their events on the world’s most popular OTT platforms. We’re excited to give our subscribers the living room sports viewing experience that they want.”

The FloSports apps include both free and premium content. Those who have subscriptions on any existing FloSPorts websites can view premium content using their login information while new users can purchase FlorPRO subscriptions via in-app purchases.

While FloSports already covers a wide variety of sports from track and field to softball, the company also has college basketball in next month’s Paradise Jam and other amateur sports. It will be adding two to four new sports to its network each quarter. Some of the recent additions include FloKO, which is dedicated to fighting games, and FloMarching, which focuses on the world of competitive marching bands and drum corps.
