Withings Steel HR, a fashionable health watch that tracks activity, heart rate and phone notifications, is officially ready to hit the market. This is the first analog device to have heart-rate tracking.
While many heart rate monitors and watches are bulky and in the way, Withing Steel aims to be sleek and easy to use with it’s classic French design. The watch also features a 25-day battery life. The watch can measure workout heart rates, resting heart rates and day-to-day heart rate at the touch of a button.
“Whether you’re an athlete or simply trying to lose a few pounds and get a better handle on your health, knowing your heart rate can help you better understand your overall health and reach your fitness goals,” Cedric Hutchings, the VP of Digital Health at Nokia Technologies, said in a statement. “With the wealth of insights it provides and the extended battery life for a health watch of its type, Steel HR truly is the first of its kind.”

Steel HR is able to give users a more detailed look into their overall health and fitness performance by using photoplethysmography (PPG) technology, which uses a green LED light to measure variation in the level of blood in the wrist to measure heart rate.
The watch is water resistant and all of the data that the watch measures can be transferred to a smart phone.
