FC Bayern Munich, one of the most storied football clubs in the world, is pushing to raise its brand awareness in the United States and Asian markets. As a result, it has struck a deal with one of the leading soccer websites Goal.com.
The partnership will enable both sides to exchange content on all digital platforms. As part of the deal, FC Bayern will gain editorial control over Bundesliga content on Goal.com which will enable the club to provide its fans with comprehensive coverage on the club’s media platforms.
In return, Goal.com will receive exclusive “behind-the-scenes” content from FC Bayern. The move will give American and Chinese fans a better look into the world of FC Bayern and bring previously unseen footage to their screens.

“The cooperation is an important step in our internationalization strategy,” said Joerg Wacker, Executive Board Member of Internationalization and Strategy of FC Bayern Munich. “Through the partnership with Goal.com, FC Bayern’s brand will gain increased visibility in our target markets in the U.S. and China.”
Goal.com also stands to gain from this partnership with one of the giants of soccer. “We’re delighted to formalize our collaboration with FC Bayern,” said Martyn Jones, Global GM of Goal.com. “The content exchange allows us to take our audience behind the scenes with the German record champions”.
According to Forbes, FC Bayern is valued at $2 billion dollars and ranks 4th in Forbes Soccer Team Values list behind Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United. The club has had a perfect start on their way to try and retain the Bundesliga crown for a record 26th time.
