Fanzone to provide innovative online transport technology for UEFA Euro 2016 France

Online event platform Fanzone has been chosen by UEFA as its official partner to provide all online transportation services and solutions for the millions of fans travelling to Euro 2016 France this summer.

Fanzone enables fans to plan their journey to Euro 2016 with collaborative door-to-door transport solutions.Fanzone, founded in 2014, offers services such as shared rides, shared taxis, public transportation and more, connecting between fans and facilitating the overall service.

The solution turns the journey from a hassle to an experience – by enabling fans to share a ride with fellow supporters, save money and meet like-minded fans who share their passion, creating a ride which is part of the fun. Fans can also find which of their friends are attending the matches and where they coming from, making it easier to socialize before and during the event.

Fanzone technology doesn’t only improve the overall fan experience but also encourages fans to look at how their travel is impacting the environment.  By using the calculator on the UEFA Euro 2016 app, fans can estimate their eco-footprint and how much they are contributing in carbon emissions. By offering transport sharing services to fans, Fanzone is reducing the environmental impact of large-scale events.

Mr. Guy-Lauren Epstein, Director of Marketing at UEFA, said: “We are very happy to have Fanzone as our online transport and traveling community solution, and I’m sure it will help the millions of traveling fans, to get around in an easier and friendly manner.”

Mr. Ori Shilo, CEO and co-founder of Fanzone, said: “We are excited and honored to partner with UEFA for the biggest Euro ever, and provide online transport solutions and a great journey experience to fans coming to France from all over the world.

Our platform will make the traveling and moving around experience easier and more enjoyable.”

“This strategic partnership is part of our current expansion into international markets, providing our transportation platform and services in many sports and music events, making the life of attendees easier” Shilo added.

Fanzone, founded in 2014 by Ori Shilo and Tomer Kazaz, raised $5m in Series A funding last year, following its initial seed funding of $1.2m. Fanzone has recently opened an office in London, its first in the UK, and its chairman is Mr. Alex Horne, former Chief Executive and General Secretary of the Football Association.

Fanzone has previously acted as official event partner for a number of high-profile sports and large-scale music events, including a recent Bon Jovi concert where more than 60% of ticket purchasers downloaded the app, generating additional revenues, easing operational hassles and avoiding pollution.
