Sacramento has begun to rise as a tech hub, and that has generated excitement among leaders throughout the region.
Recently, Sacramento saw the opening of the Golden 1 Center, the most tech-savvy arena in the NBA. Now, just across the street from the arena, the technology company Fantag has been launched with new offices there and an aim towards reimagining the way live events are experienced in the age of mobile technology.
Fantag’s patent-pending video engagement platform, currently in beta and going live later this year, allows those who attend live events to capture, replay and share their favorite moments with one touch of their phone screen.
“Video technology in the mobile era continues to change the way we experience life, work and everything in between,” Brian Dombrowski, founder and CPO of Fantag, said in a statement. “And with the players who have joined us, throughout the region, we have an opportunity to change how moments from live events are relived and experienced. We’re just getting started, and have already witnessed great support for our company.”

Fantag has received investments and advice from executives at CBS Interactive, StubHub, MaxPreps, Moneta Ventures, and members of the ownership group at the Sacramento Kings, according to the company.
The company has headquarters in both Sacramento and Silicon Valley, enabling it to have access to the talent, partners and investors across the region.
“The Sacramento region is the perfect location for a startup like Fantag to test, develop and scale access to its platform,” Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg said in a statement. “Our ecosystem will embrace it.”
Another key factor in Fantag’s decision to settle in Sacramento is the growing community of sports organizations in the region and the investors throughout the area that have already taken interest in the company’s technology. The company reported it has raised $1.5 million in seed capital from investors.
“The time is right for investments in companies like Fantag,” Moneta Ventures managing partner Lokesh Sikaria said in a statement. “We’re betting on the long-term evolution happening here which will enhance the lives of many in the greater Sacramento area.”
