NEW YORK — Epson has announced the launch of ProSense, a line of five running watches that has a notable American runner endorsing it.
Meb Keflezighi – a winner of the Boston and New York City marathons and silver medal winner in the 2004 Olympic marathon – has tested and used the ProSense 307, according to the company The 42-year-old retired upon completing the New York City Marathon earlier this month, but not before having his career celebrated by Epson at a pre-race party and offering this testimonial.
“Epson has been a great partner for me in my training for many years now,” he said. “Their innovation in GPS technology and creating solutions for runners and endurance athletes has helped me immensely in my demanding, day-to-day race preparations.”
The ProSense 307 is one of three multi-sport watches in the line, enabling athletes to cross train and wear the watches while swimming.
The five watches focus on runners. Epson RouteSense GPS includes position algorithms and stride sensors, and CardioSense HR technology that delivers an accurate heart rate sensor — even while underwater. Some models in the lineup also feature advanced running metrics such as VO2 max, training effect and race time estimates.
The companion app, Epson View, analyzes the data and provides third-party integration to online communities like RunKeeper and Strava.
