Being a student-athlete puts a lot on your plate and college can already be overwhelming enough as it is. Between classes, homework, practices, games and any other extracurricular activities, it all can take a toll on the athlete’s education and career. To assist its students, DI school Elon University in North Carolina has released an app-based platform called Phoenix360 with the help of Evolution Labs.
The SA360 platform will provide the student-athletes useful informational and tools to help them survive through college. The content includes material on mental health, NCAA compliance, diet and nutrition, drugs and alcohol use, academic skills and much more. Elon University has made the app available for either personal use or it can be configured to work as part of a pre-existing course.

“Phoenix360 will play a central role in equipping our student-athletes with the skills, attitude, and knowledge that will help them succeed not just in college, but into their careers beyond. The Phoenix360 platform provides an invaluable tool and resource to assist student-athletes in meeting the many demands of their classes and sport, and can help them whether they’re sitting in a residence hall or traveling to their next road game,” said Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Elon, Faith Shearer.
While there are some things that sports teach that can’t be found in the classroom, this type of information isn’t something students usually learn about until the situation is at hand. So hopefully this app can help with certain situations for those young 18 to 22-year-old Elon student athletes who are just starting their careers. “Elon understands that teaching student-athletes key life-skills in a highly engaging manner at the right time in their athletic careers can have a profound impact,” said co-founder at Evolution Labs, Peter Kraft.
Evolution Labs has worked with over 500 different universities to help create relevant information to numerous different students and, as a result, has “heightened engagement that drives outcomes–real, measurable results”.
