Triple Crown Sports, a youth sports organizing leader, and sports technology company Diamond Kinetics announced a new partnership today. The Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker, a sensor-based swing analysis system, will become the official batting analytics tool for Triple Crown Baseball.

Triple Crown will now use the detailed swing statistics that the Swing Tracker provides for all testing and measurement events in youth baseball. It will also allow players to measure their swing performance against others through quantitative analysis and mechanical diagnostics specifically designed to improve performance.

The Swing Tracker measures swings in 15 different ways making it the most comprehensive swing measurement tool in baseball and softball today and the only device of its kind to allow users to sync videos of swings with key data points throughout the swing.

The four major metrics that the Swing Tracker will display for Triple Crown Sports youth baseball players are max barrel speed, impact momentum, trigger to impact time, and distance of barrel in zone.

On the newly announced partnership, Keri King, COO of Triple Crown Sports was enthused, “We are very excited to weave complex analytics into our new Testing and Measurement events to help players improve their performance.”

Diamond Kinetics CEO C.J. Handron is equally optimistic about the partnership. “Triple Crown Sports and the SwingTracker system bring quantified and accurate skill assessment to baseball players participating in Triple Crown Sports’ tournaments nationally.  Integrating our in-depth and objective swing motion data within these events will provide players the ability to measure their performance against their peers.”

Swing Tracker was recently recognized as one of the top sports technology tools on the market by the American Baseball Coaches Association. It was also named as a finalist for the 2015 Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards which recognize the most innovative products and applications derived from the wireless protocol.

On paper this partnership appears to be beneficial for both companies involved. Going forward we will monitor how it plays out on the field.
