New York, NY.Boingo Wireless, a worldwide leader of connectivity solutions for sports and entertainment venues, is bringing the latest sports tech trends and sports business influencers to audiences around the country as the exclusive sponsor of the Sports Business Radio Road Show.

The Sports Business Radio Road Show brings Sports Business Radio to select university campuses for conversations with key decision makers from the world of sports. The conversations take place before a studio audience comprised of students, faculty and alumni and are recorded for airing on Sports Business Radio. Audience members are able to take part in a Q & A with the featured guest as part of the Sports Business Radio Road Show.

The latest road show hosted former NBA Commissioner David Stern and students from the Marist Center for Sports Communications and the Columbia University sports management program. The event took place at The Players’ Tribune, a new media company founded by Derek Jeter in New York City.

Boingo’s Doug Lodder, SVP Business Development, spoke at the event, with encouraging words for students.

“What I always say to young people looking to get into sports is to look beyond the sport itself,” said Lodder. “What’s happening a lot today is technology and sports are converging and colliding. Look for ways to connect the two.”

Stern then took the stage and spent an hour with students, covering a range of topics, including wearable technology and why he vetoed the now infamous Chris Paul, Lakers trade five years ago.
