Tampa, Fla.-based technology firm Abacode will be the official cybersecurity provider for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Amalie Arena.
This partnership is designed to guard the organization from targeted cyber-attacks and to help provide community awareness regarding the need for proactive cyber security measures.
“It is refreshing to see their leadership taking proactive steps needed to address the new realities of this growing issue,”Abacode CEO Michael Ferris said in a statement. “I am excited that we are helping the Lightning make strategic decisions, which in many cases save a company time and money, instead of tactical decisions that cost time and monty. Abacode and Lightning are hoping that this partnership encourages other businesses, government entities and organizations to conduct in-depth cyber security assessments, deploy 24/7 security information event management/security operations center network surveillance platforms in addition to a multitude of solutions which address the threats posed by cyber criminals.
“Partnering with Abacode allows us to utilize the expertise of its staff to properly implement a managed cyber security program, helping to protect the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Storm and Amalie Arena against threats without the overheard of additional staff and resources focused solely in these areas,” VP of Innovation and Technology Services Sean Walker said in a statement.
