SAP HANA and Analytics are used to capture and analyze data on the spot, which helps Match Centre provide the fastest live scores available anywhere online. The CWC 2015 Match Centre can deliver in-depth match analysis to fans around the world by utilizing ball-by-ball match data, with full Hawk-Eye camera integration to provide a one-on-a-kind experience for fans with its insights, stats, and historic pattern of plays. Match Centre is available on the ICC website and is also incorporated into its official tournament app.
For those of you who are not familiar with the sport of Cricket, Match Centre will remind you of the live gamecasts that are on ESPN.com and NBA.com. The players names along with their pictures are listed, and the colorful page has more than just the basic stats.
Fans can click on the player’s name and you can see what they have done in their career as well. One thing that Match Centre could improve upon is trying to appeal to the casual fans or newcomers to the sport. Sites like NBA.com show what some of the abbreviations and stats mean, so that anyone can come and look at it for the first time and at least have a basic understanding of what the statistics mean and why they are important.
There were many abbreviations on the Match Centre site that may not be familiar to some, which is fine. But there could be some definitions or descriptions of what they are to help the non-Cricket fans appreciate the stats of the sport easier.
