Improving as a tennis player can take time, but tracking measurable progress doesn’t have to when the Coollang Smart Tennis sensor is attached to the end of racket.
Tracking can be done in real-time when the sensor is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, and even when unconnected, it will store data in its internal memory for later transmission.
The result is a wealth of information that is compiled automatically. The report generated by the Coollang tennis racket sensor and the companion Smart Tennis app can be blunt for a below-average tennis player. Endurance — calculated by the duration of playing tennis — can be deemed “weak.” Intensity — determined by hitting frequency and ability to keep a rally going — can in red letters be considered “low.”

But that’s what can encourage improvement. And for the more serious player, insights can be gained as the sensor and app determine the time spent active on the court, calories burned, shots per minute and max serve speed. The percentage of shots hit that are forehand versus backhand can be determined. Also measured are swing speeds and divided up into shots with topspin, shots that are flat, slices and serves.
The exercise and statistics that come with playing tennis can be tracked and gamified, as daily sessions can be tracked chronologically and compared based on shots completed and top serve speeds.
