Coollang Expands From Racket Sensors To Wearables

Coollang – which last year introduced sensors that are placed in badminton and tennis rackets and baseball bats – is incorporating sensors into wearable fitness gear like sports bras and running suits.

The sensors use motion-capturing and accelerator technology to monitor the wearer’s activities. In rackets, these devices enabled athletes to retrieve real-time insight into motion, speed and types of movements so that they could improve their form.

The wearable version helps athletes to record their heart rate as well as motion recognition.

“Whether you play professionally or just for the love of the game, our technology helps you play better and smarter,” Coollang CEO Brian Song said in a statement last week. “The intelligent chips we use are integrated into sports equipment, combining it with motion sensor technologies and our altitude algorithms so the data reflects exactly what you are doing using the latest 3D animation. Our analysis is very accurate and makes instant improvement so you reach your full potential.”
