College Football Playoff to Deploy Satisfi Labs’ AI on Game Day

The College Football Playoff app will feature an artificial intelligence system at Monday’s title game that will guide fans around the stadium and feed them information about the game.

The CFP, which will host No. 1 Alabama Crimson and No. 2 Clemson Tigers at the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, will deploy an AI platform built by Satisfi Labs to improve the fan experience for those attending the championship event.

The digital assistant is already active at Levi’s Stadium through a partnership with the 49ers, which means that it already has a deep understanding of the stadium, parking, concessions, shopping, and the game of football itself.

The CFBPlayoff mobile app will also help fans access their mobile tickets, allowing for instant troubleshooting and simplified transactions. This comes after a debacle last year in which mobile ticketing, a visit from President Donald Trump that put security on high alert, and heavy rain in Atlanta caused massive delays for the CFP title game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In an interview with SportTechie after the game, Ticketmaster said the mobile ticketing issues affected just one percent of mobile ticket users, or a few hundred people out of the 51,113 total mobile ticket entries.

Satisfi Labs has created AI platforms for teams throughout the MLB, the NHL, the NFL, the NBA, and MLS. This CFP partnership, however, signals an expansion to event-specific functions.

“We have developed custom platforms for sports teams and stadiums across North America that are active year-round to enable a superior guest experience,” said Courtney Jeffries, Satisfi’s senior vice president of sports, entertainment and tourism. “We are excited to demonstrate how our offerings can impact large-scale national events of this magnitude.”
