Professional golfer Bubba Watson has always had a penchant for putting his name behind unconventional golf carts. In 2013, he teamed up with sponsor Oakley to advertise the world’s first hovercraft golf cart, an invention that allowed golfers to go over any terrain, like water hazards, smoothly and sleekly.
Now, Watson has an even cooler ride—the Golf Cart Jetpack, once again combined with the help of sponsor Oakley. But, Martin Aircraft, famous for their work with crafting Jetpacks, has done much of the design behind the Golf Cart Jetpack.
It is a single-pilot craft, so the days of caddies tagging along in the same cart are in the past. Behind the pilot is extra space in the back for clubs and whatever else a golfer might need. The Jetpack’s two ducted fans can give the pilot a view over the course as high as 3,000 feet and it can take the golfer to the other end of a hole at speeds as fast as 46 mph.
While the Golf Cart Jetpack looks pretty cool and could give players a never-before-seen view of every hole, there are still some questions surrounding its practicality on the course.

First off, it has yet to be approved by the FAA, which will be just one approval that this new Jetpack will need. It will then have to be approved by courses and tournaments, who could very well have some doubts about the Jetpack potentially disturbing presence on a course.
It does have a soft landing, but the noise of the engine is still in question, along with the possibility of the fans moving any ball the Jetpack flies over. Although Watson is marketing this as a craft that will increase the speed of play, that fact may very well not be true.
