It’s a lot of fun to go crazy and root for your team with a beer and hot dog in hand, but make no mistake, attending games today is an expensive and time consuming investment. The last thing a fan wants when spending a few precious hours at the stadium is to waste time standing in concession lines.
The Brooklyn Nets seem to understand these challenges of being a fan; and have made a deal with American Express that aims to make paying for transactions a breeze with their new eWallet system.
To do this, the Nets and American Express have introduced their new digital payment solution the “Brooklyn eWallet” into the Brooklyn Nets mobile app, with the intention of speeding up the lines at Barclays Center with an easy payment method.
Using the eWallet takes a few simple touches from the Nets; and there is no need to manually add credit card numbers because “card snap” has the capability to scan a fan’s card by taking a photo of it. Also, Visa or Mastercard, besides American Express, are accepted; so the majority of fans will be able to walk right up to a concession stand, whip out their smartphone, scan the eWallet, and be on their way with a tasty beverage.
“Visitors to Barclays Center are constantly using their smartphones around the venue. Now with the eWallet, they can easily and quickly buy food and drinks while interacting with digital content served up by American Express and the Nets,” Joanna Lambert, Senior Vice President of Product Development and Management at American Express, told Business Wire in a press release.
