Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in England is now offering fans at Amex Stadium the opportunity to experience in virtual reality an up-close look at players warming up, in the tunnel, and being in the center of goal celebrations.
This experience will be exclusively available in the family stand at the Amex Stadium during a match with Aston Villa on Nov. 18, giving fans of all ages a chance to see the game in VR.
This section of the stadium in aimed towards the younger members of the fan base, and the organization hopes to makes this the place for families to enjoy the game. The new family stand will also have access to stats, interactive quizzes, photo opportunities and a reaction game.
“It it important for us to be doing all we can to improve the experience here at the Amex for all supporters, but particularly our younger fans,” “Brighton & Hove Albion head of marketing Tom Gorringe said in a statement. “Having been at the stadium for five years, we wanted to give the family stand a bit of a face-lift and were interested in how we could use innovation and technology to do this.
Virtual reality technology is at the heart of the family stand with the experience using live footage of a match and taking users to places where fans wouldn’t normally be able to go.
Since Amex Stadium’s opening in 2011, it has been very popular with younger fans with over 100,000 under-16s attending games. The team has a junior membership of more than 15,000.
In order to partake in the family stand, minors must be accompanied by an adult on a maximum of two adults to one child ratio.
