The Basketball Champions League (BCL) and WSC Sports Technologies, have agreed on a partnership and will begin working on a project to bring automated video highlight creations to BCL fans across Europe.
“The Basketball Champions League has a great growth potential and our technology will help scale content distribution and exposure while tailoring videos to fan’s appetite,” Daniel Shichman, CEO and co-founder of WSC Sports, said in a statement.

WCS, a sports video technology company headquartered in Tel Aviv, uses its technology to scan sports broadcasts in real-time and relay that information, recording every event along the way to its eventual, short-form video result.
BCL and WSC hope to bring a more customized highlight package and a growing amount of content to the BCL’s digital channels.
Extensive pre- and post-game coverage will be brought to fans in what the BCL describes as, “round-the-clock exposure.”
As a social media channel, the BCL already has around 140,000 fans and reached over 2.5 million video views. The partnership will only extend the popularity of the channel by producing this promotional and shareable content for teams and players directly.
“As Basketball Champions League fans’ demand for video on digital and social platforms continues to grow, WSC’s technology will give us the tools to meet that demand and bring our competition to the highest level of an ever-growing digital offer,” BCL CEO Patrick Comninos said in a statement.
WSC has some powerful credentials itself after having done a similar automated video highlight creation deal with the NBA last December.
Some of the company’s other clients include Turner Sports, Bleacher Report, the Big East Conference.
WSC recently participated in the LA Dodgers Sports Accelerator program. According to an article published by the Jewish Journal, although the WSC had not begun creating Dodgers highlights, the team opened the door for business opportunities across the MLB and also the possibility to extend into other leagues.
WSC has been racking up partnerships from the beginning, and agreeing to terms with the Basketball Champions League is yet another notch in the WSC’s infinite belt.
