NFL teams launching connected TV apps has become a trend.
Last month, the Minnesota Vikings launched their own app for Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. That same week, the Baltimore Ravens joined the party and partnered with Bottle Rocket to create an Apple TV app.
Ravens fans will have access to a number of Ravens Productions videos and live-streamed programming, including Ravens Report, Ravens Wired, Ravens Unscripted and Final Drive. Live press conferences, historical content and behind-the-scene videos will also be available.
“The ability to distribute our Emmy Award-winning video content via an over-the-top platform is an important step forward in reaching Ravens fans in their home no matter where they live,” Senior Vice President of Ravens Media Michelle Andres said in a statement. “The availability of our programming on-demand from the living room couch is an entertainment and convenience play for our fans.”

The app uses Bottle Rocket’s AWE (Anywhere. Watch. Experience.) video distribution platform.
“We are excited to have the Ravens on the AWE Platform,” Judy Johnson, Product Owner of AWE, said in a statement. “The AWE platform was designed for both large and small video content owners to quickly and efficiently launch amazing video experiences on mobile and OTT streaming devices with the backend services businesses need, including support for ads, analytics tracking, and app management tools. Working with the team, we were able to get the Raven’s app developed and launched on Apple TV with both VOD and live content in only a matter of days.”
The Ravens’ app is available only on 4th generation Apple TV. However, the organization hopes to add to its OTT presence with Roku and Amazon Fire TV in future seasons.
