Baden Sports, Inc. has announced that the full line up of the new composite, aluminum, and wood 2015 Axe Bats for baseball and softball are now available for pre-order. The revolutionary bat has an axe shaped bottom as opposed to the more traditional oval shape that players and fans have become accustomed to over the last century, offering a more ergonomic fit in a batter’s hand. We previously covered the science and technology behind the Axe bat, explaining in full detail the advantages that this particular set of bats offer to players.
“We’re excited to make available our 2015 lineup to players across the country,” said Hugh Tompkins, Director of Research and Development at Baden Sports in a press release. “The depth and quality of our Axe Bat lineup is better than ever and we’re looking forward to even more players experiencing the unique performance advantages provided by our handle design and barrel construction.”
Amongst the bats available for pre-order are the Avenge series for baseball, fastpitch or slowpitch. These bats all feature barrels made from improved BCP composite and a two-piece composite construction with lightweight handles and the patented axe grip. The L140B model is specifically fitted with an asymmetric barrel and also includes Baden’s next-generation asymmetric carbon ring insert designed for improved durability and performance.
Other bats available are the youth models; Phenom L135B an aluminum piece and the Hard Maple Composite L120, featuring a single billet of pro-grade maple a carbon connector between the barrel and the composite foam.
