As Clemson tries to make another run at the College Football Championship, its fans can watch behind-the-scenes footage in virtual reality — without the headset.
A recent partnership between the ACC, Raycom Sports, and VR creator EON Sports has begotten an app, called ACC Virtual Reality presented by Havoline, that will bring an immersive feel to one of college football’s top conferences.
The ACC counts perennial football powerhouses Clemson, Miami, Florida State, and Georgia Tech among its constituent schools. In March, the app presented college basketball content in virtual reality, more relevant to fans of Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Louisville, and North Carolina State.
The VR football programming includes 360-degree video of on- and off-field perspectives, locker room speeches, and other behind-the-scenes looks. Fans can watch Louisville take the field or see Miami players do their pregame warmups.

“We’re pleased to showcase ACC Football through the unique experience that ACC Virtual Reality provides,” ACC Commissioner John Swofford said in a statement. “We appreciate the partnership with Raycom Sports and Havoline as we continue to provide fans with ACC content through innovative technology.”
In March, ACC basketball fans could be immersed in a Grayson Allen buzzer-beater, UNC-Duke and a 360-degree view of tip-off at the ACC Championship at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
“Coming off a season of unprecedented success, ACC Football is a tremendous subject to feature as we continue to expand the first collegiate conference virtual reality platform,” Trey Walters, Senior Director of Content and Development for Raycom Sports, said in a statement. Raycom broadcasts ACC men’s basketball and football on the ACC Network and operates the conference’s digital and social media properties.
The VR content is available through ACC Digital Network’s YouTube channel. The ACC VR presented by Havoline app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
