3D Photo Booth For Fitness Wins Olympique de Marseille Startup Contest

Exsens, a Paris-based startup with a 3D Photo Booth that automatically generates full body avatars that can be animated for use in fitness training, was announced as the winner of last month’s #OMInnovationCup put on by football club Olympique de Marseille and will display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.

Exsens, which won 50,000 euros for placing first among 264 applicants and 11 finalists with Olympique de Marseille owner Frank McCourt overseeing the jury, can generate a photorealistic full body image in three minutes, creating a digital clone for anyone who steps into an egg-shaped booth.

In the fitness category, Exsens’ avatars could conceivably be used as a visual aid for athletes who wish to change their physique. Users can simulate physical transformations and change their look.
