Have you ever received that text from a friend or family member saying “hey I saw you on TV”? Then you think something along the lines of “that’s pretty cool, I wish I had it recorded”. Well a company called 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) has the app that gives you the opportunity to save those moments so now there is no need to rush and grab your phone to snap a picture. In addition, 15SOF has now teamed up with the University of Michigan and IMG to bring their technology to Ann Arbor.
So how does 15SOF work? First, after downloading the app, you create your account and upload a photo of yourself. The app then uses it to recognize the individual when searching through footage from the event. Once it locates you, the app then sends the content directly to your account.
“As the first college or professional organization to use the 15 Seconds of Fame fan engagement app, Michigan Athletics is thrilled to expand our partnership. The app provides a unique way for Michigan fans to capture, preserve, and share their memories,” said Kurt Svoboda, Associate Athletic Director for External Communications and Public Relations.

Michigan students, alumni, and fans will be able to use the app for all of the school’s basketball and football games. 15SOF has already partnered with other professional teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs, the 2016 NBA champions, used 15SOF’s technology during the post-season, where they had a large number of fans use the app.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with one of the preeminent universities and sports programs in the country, a place that has special meaning for 15 Seconds of Fame since we tested our first-mover product-with the help of its great student body-there. We look forward to delivering incredible memories to students and alumni across many different use cases, both sports and non-sports,” said CEO of 15SOF Brett Joshpe.
Next time you attend a game, make sure to check and see if 15SOF’s app is up and running so you can save your moments up on the big screen.
