Australia prop Sekope Kepu has been handed a three-week suspension following his red card against Scotland at Murrayfield last week.
The Wallaby tighthead's ban was reduced from six weeks and with it beginning in February, he will subsequently miss the start of Super Rugby.
Kepu was shown a red card by referee Pascal Gaüzère after his challenge at a ruck saw him strike Scotland flank Hamish Watson's head.
The prop had been charged for an infringement of law 10.4(h) 'a player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without use of the arms, or without grasping a player'. Kepu, the committee said, had accepted the tackle had warranted a red card.
Kepu's previously clean disciplinary record led to the "maximum discount of 50 percent and reduced the length of the suspension to three weeks". However with the Southern Hemisphere season finished, the disciplinary committee ruled to suspend Waratahs prop Kepu until March 4, 2018.
