Worcester director of rugby Alan Solomons believes that wing Josh Adams has the capabilities of playing international rugby.
The Welsh-born back three player touched down for his 10th try of the campaign in the Warriors’ 46-31 defeat to Saracens on Saturday.
Adams joined the English outfit from the Llanelli-based Scarlets in 2015 and has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Premiership club.
Solomons therefore insists that the 22-year-old could be a part of Warren Gatland’s plans at some point in the Six Nations, despite Wales altering their policy on selecting overseas players.
Individuals must have 60 caps or more if they are to be considered when playing outside of the country, but the Warriors’ wing could be given dispensation after signing his current contract before the new rule was implemented.
“He is a really good rugby player and an extremely dangerous broken-field runner,” Worcester’s boss said. “Wales tend to produce those backs. It much be in their genetics.
“He is a class player and certainly capable of playing international rugby. I think Josh has got a lot of confidence because of the way the team is playing.
“It is all about the team and, because we are playing well, Josh has been given the opportunities which he has taken, but he has grown in confidence.”
