Rhule ‘not defined’ by shocker

Springbok wing Raymond Rhule says he has moved on from his shocker in the 57-0 Rugby Championship defeat to the All Blacks in Albany.

The 24-year-old was subsequently dropped from the Springbok side after the humiliation at the hands of their oldest foes last month.

Rhule missed a staggering nine tackles in the Test but told  Netwerk24 the performance was a one-off and “does not define” him as a player.

“You get your good and bad days and this was my bad day. I’ve worked way too hard on my skills and to get where I am for everything to be ruined by one bad game.”

Rhule also spoke with Springbok coach Allister Coetzee, and he said he still backed his abilities.

“You always know where you stand with him,” Rhule said of Coetzee.

Rhule is a seven Test veteran and is with the Cheetahs in the PRO14 right now and will play for them for the last time on Saturday before joining his new franchise, the Stormers, in Cape Town.
