All Blacks captain Kieran Read has called on his side to be more ruthless ahead of the Rugby Championship return match against the Wallabies in Dunedin on Saturday.
In the opening fixture, the All Blacks stormed into a 54-6 lead by the 48th minute but then let the Wallabies in for four unanswered tries as the match finished 54-34.
The last time the Wallabies won the Bledisloe Cup was in 2002 and Read admits that it's the most important trophy to the All Blacks second only to the World Cup.
"I'm really desperate for it," Read told the Canberra Times.
"This is our most important trophy we play for outside the World Cup. "
Meanwhile, Read wants the All Blacks to show no mercy this time around.
"We slightly took our foot off the throat and if we're not there mentally, they're a team that can do that to you," he added.
"They're dangerous, they're hungry, they've certainly got a point to prove, so you can't take any team lightly.
"We weren't happy, obviously, with the last 30 minutes last week, so that was a great kick in the guts for us to start this week on the right note."
