Racing 92 ease past flat Montpellier

Racing 92 kept pace with the leading pack in the Top 14 as they beat a disappointing Montpellier side 26-0 at U Arena in Paris on Sunday.

Table-toppers Montpellier were hugely underwhelming as they leaked three tries, with next week's trip to La Rochelle also a hard fixture.

Racing though will be thrilled with their performance as they pick up their seventh win out of 11 games, with a bonus point also in the bag.

They led 13-0 at half-time thanks to inside centre Albert Vulivuli's try that saw him hit a superb line off Pat Lambie, who added six points.

Brice Dulin showed his pace to cross on the right wing on 46 minutes and with Lambie kicking a penalty five minutes later, they led 21-0.

And Racing 92 added the bonus-point try on 63 minutes thanks to Juan Imhoff's controversial score, as he appeared to knock the ball on when grounding. The officials declined to check the replays though as Joe Rokocoko's kick ahead proved profitable for the Argentine and Racing.

They were made to sweat at the end, however, as Montpellier almost wiped that extra point, but scrambling work that saw Maxime Machenaud yellow carded kept the visitors out, ending a disappointing day at the office for them.
