Centre Pete Horne expects to see a 'good reaction' from Scotland against France this Sunday at Murrayfield after last weekend's disappointment.
The men in Blue failed to live up to the hype that has been generated over two seasons as they were comprehensively outplayed in all facets of the 34-7 defeat.
The Scotland squad returned to training at Oriam today (Tuesday) and, after an honest Monday night debrief, began preparations for this Sunday's round two clash.
The Glasgow Warriors playmaker believes that, despite the unfortunate start to their 2018 Six Nations campaign, the dark blues should not be written off.
He said: “I think there will be a good reaction from the boys as we were all pretty devastated.
"We’ve got France immediately after it and we are desperate to get another opportunity."
He continued: “I believe we can beat anyone in the competition but we’ll be taking it game by game.
"We’ll be looking to beat France this weekend. We will regroup and try to beat England and then Ireland and then Italy. We will try to take it one game at a time."
Horne recognises and shares the expectation and optimism many had for Scotland after a successful autumn, stressing the importance of shifting focus to getting a good result on Sunday against France.
He continued: “We went to Cardiff with a lot of belief. We thought as a squad that we had enough in us to go there and get a result. We are gutted just like everyone else and now we need to focus on France and get a reaction.
“We are positive. We can cause teams a lot of bother with our style of play. If we can be quick with the ball while still controlling, we’ve got a good chance against France.”
