Nowell set to return to action

Exeter Chiefs wing Jack Nowell is set to return to action against Bath at Sandy Park on Saturday after recovering from two surgeries to repair facial fractures.

The 24-year-old England and British and Irish Lions flyer missed the November international campaign after sustaining multiple fractures around his cheek and eye socket during Exeter's match against Newcastle in October.

The two operations were successful and Exeter Chiefs' director of rugby, Rob Baxter, said he has made a full recovery.

"He's trained fully this week and he's done contact training," he told Sky Sports.

"The second operation lengthened things out slightly but it didn't disturb the fracture site. It's not been a quick-healing injury but he's now absolutely fine."
