Worcester Warriors have been dealt a blow with the news that Jono Lance has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a broken hand.
The stand-off has been a key figure for the English side following his arrival on a short-term loan deal in October, helping them to move 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
With the Australian due to join Melbourne Rebels in time for the 2018 Super Rugby season, Lance could have played his last game for the Warriors.
“Jono has broken his hand and at the moment the prognosis is approximately six weeks,” director of rugby Alan Solomons told Worcester News.
Worcester are currently in discussions with the Rebels over potentially retaining the services of the pivot but the injury is not expected to affect those negotiations.
Meanwhile, veteran scrum-half Peter Stringer has left the club and returned to Ireland after they decided not to renew his contract, which he signed ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
