Clermont have suffered a major setback as influential scrum-half Morgan Parra is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee injury.
Parra has already missed the first two games of France's Six Nations campaign but it's now been confirmed he requires surgical intervention.
This will have Clermont sweating ahead of their Champions Cup quarter-final with Racing 92 on April 1, with Parra out for up to six weeks.
If Parra does not recover in time for the European home fixture, the scrum-half jersey will go to either Greig Laidlaw or Charlie Cassang.
