Kingston fuels Yarde exit talk

Harlequins director of rugby John Kingston admits he is unsure as to whether Sale-linked Marland Yarde will ever play for Quins again.

It all started last weekend when Yarde was dropped from the side for the European Champions Cup match at Wasps for disciplinary reasons.

Former Harlequins fans' favourite Ugo Monye then said it was only a matter of time before Yarde turned out in Sale colours while working as a pundit for BT Sports.

Monye's prediction seemed to gain validity when Yarde was a notable absentee from the 23 to face Worcester over the weekend.

And Kingston did little to allay these fears when he said in his post-match press conference that he didn't know whether Yarde would still be at the club when Harlequins face off with Saracens next weekend in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

“I don’t know," he said. "We will have to see how things map out for us over the course of the next few days and week. If I think it’s the best thing for Harlequins to play him next Sunday against Saracens in the Anglo Welsh then he will be selected to play.”

Last week the 25-year-old was left out of England’s training squad for the forthcoming November internationals.
