Sharks centre Andre Esterhuizen and Rebels scrum-half Nic Stirzaker are both set for hearings after receiving red cards over the weekend.
Esterhuizen is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4(j) Lifting a Player from the ground and either dropping or driving that Player’s head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the Player’s feet are off the ground when he tackled Rebels wing Sefanaia Naivalu on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Rebels half-back Stirzaker received two yellow cards in the same Super Rugby game, which finished 9-9 at Kings Park in Durban.
The Cases will be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee and take place on Sunday via video-conference.
All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to the Foul Play Review Committee to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.
For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person(s) appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the Foul Play Review Committee.
