Worcester director of rugby Gary Gold is preparing for the worst possible scenario after star centre Ben Te'o came off injured after just 27 minutes against Newcastle on Friday.
Te'o sustained the injury in Worcester's 35-8 humbling at the hands of the Falcons in their opening game of the Premiership season at Kingston Park.
The 30-year-old, who played a starring role for the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand, is a vital cog in the Warriors' midfield.
The injury appears to be pretty serious and has Gold sweating with centres Ryan Mills (hip and shoulder) and Max Stelling (ankle) also sidelined.
“It’s a major concern.” said Gold.
“There is a plate in his arm and it looks like he’s damaged something around the plate,
“Obviously he will have to have a scan and we will see how it is.”
