Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell believes his side still have a long way to go in their pursuit of perfection, despite thumping Sale 41-13.
The England international was in sparkling form on Saturday as Saracens ran in five tries, half-back partner Ben Spencer scoring two of those.
After the game Farrell demanded further improvements from his side, who sit joint second in the Premiership standings after four matches.
"When you are in the high scoring games and you seem to be attacking well – there is no excuse – but people normally do start focusing on that attacking side," he told Saracens' website.
"We need to try and make sure that we get our full game on to the pitch next week."
Farrell added: "There was some really good physicality that we asked for during the week, so that was pleasing. I think we let our foot off a little bit at times which probably cost us.
"It just leaves us feeling that there is a little bit of work to do, which might even be a good thing."
The comment was indicative of the high standard Farrell sets for himself and the team, and the England fly-half went on to discuss his relentless pursuit of perfection.
"We are nowhere near it right now, and you wouldn’t hope to be there yet at this time of the year," he said.
"You hope to be striving towards it and I think that’s the key. I don’t think you ever get there but you hope to be."
