Dowsett inks permanent deal

Worcester have completed the permanent signing of English-qualified scrum-half Michael Dowsett.

Dowsett, 25, has made eight appearances since moving to Sixways in November, and capped his debut with a try in a win over Bristol in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Dowsett previously spent three seasons with Super Rugby side the Brumbies, making 22 appearances for the Canberra-based outfit.

The livewire half-back also featured for New Zealand outfit Southland in their Mitre 10 Cup competition in 2016, while he also counts Canberra Vikings and New South Wales Country Eagles as former clubs.

Director of Rugby Gary Gold said: “Michael has shown tremendous professionalism since joining the club.

“He provides important competition in the half-back position and he’s a hungry, enthusiastic individual who drives standards across the board.”

Dowsett added: “I’ve enjoyed my short time in Worcester so far and I’m looking forward to the future.

“Hopefully I can take my opportunities when they come along and help the team push on.”
