Wales' wing Alex Cuthbert will depart Cardiff Blues at the end of the season when his current contract runs out, according to the BBC.
As a result, Cuthbert, who has scored 16 tries in 47 appearances, will cut short his international career, with the new WRU selection policy stipulating that only players capped 60 or more times may be eligible for selection when playing their club rugby outside of the country.
The Blues expressed their interest in Northampton Saints flyer George North in November but have now decided to prioritise their recruitment in the front-row given that props Taufa'ao Filise and Gethin Jenkins are 40 and 37 respectively, while hooker Matthew Rees is 37.
It is unknown as of yet where Cuthbert is heading but reports suggest either France or England, with the former the more likely destination.
Unfortunately for Cuthbert, there are not enough internationals left by the time his contract expires for him to exceed the 60-cap mark, making his unavailability for Wales a certainty.
