Argentina scrum-half Tomas Cubelli is confident Joe Powell will handle the pressure of being the Brumbies' first-choice number nine just fine.
It was confirmed on Monday that Cubellli had signed a deal with the Argentina Rugby Union and the Jaguares until the end of 2019 having spent two years with the Brumbies.
Cubelli was first-choice scrum-half during his time in Canberra but Powell enjoyed an extended run in the run-on side this past season when the Argentine ruptured his patella tendon ruling him out for five months.
Powell grabbed his chance with both hands so much so that he was rewarded with a call-up to the Wallabies side for the June internationals in which he made his debut.
And Cubelli believes Powell has already proved himself and possesses all the attributes to be a world-class scrum-half.
"Joey is ready, he has shown that this year," Cubelli told Watoday.
"It is sad to be leaving. I've been through a lot of things in Canberra, and I will take a lot of people in my heart for all of my life.
"It's mixed emotions. I will miss the boys and miss the team. But I am also excited about the next opportunity."
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old says he learnt from his time at the Brumbies.
"I will take a bit of everything out of my time with the Brumbies," Cubelli said.
"It has been a big lesson for me. Not just in sport, but as a human as well.
"I have loved it all and I know we tried our best against the Hurricanes, we don't have any regrets about the way we played."
