French international fly-half François Trinh-Duc has confirmed that he will be leaving Montpellier at the end of the season.
Born and raised in Montpellier, Trinh-Duc has played his entire career for the Hérault club, for whom he made his debut in 2004.
The 29-year-old playmaker, rated by many as France’s most creative fly-half, is being hotly pursued by both Toulon and Toulouse.
“I’m leaving Montpellier, but I can not comment on my future club,” said the player on Wednesday.
Trinh-Duc’s contract runs out in June and he is not attracted by a forwards-orientated style of South African coach Jake White, who has brought in countryman Demetri Catrakilis to wear the number 10 jersey.
Unlike his close friend Fulgence Ouedraogo, who recently signed a three-year extension with Montpellier, Trinh-Duc is ready to move on from his home-town club.
