The All Blacks began preparations for their next Test against the Wallabies by reviewing footage of their recent 54-34 win against their rivals in Sydney.
New Zealand coach Steve Hansen said after the game that the world champions became "seduced by the scoreboard". He was referring to Australia’s 28 unanswered points scored in the second half.
"We've just come from our review and it was good and honest and we did have a good look at it," All Blacks lock Sam Whitelock told Stuff.
"It shouldn't matter what the scoreboard is… that's pretty much what our review was about, in making sure that going forward no matter what the distractions are, the scoreboard, how the game is flowing, making sure that we can go out there and keep it nice and simple."
Lock partner Brodie Retallick also suggested that the Wallabies "outsmarted" them at scrum time.
The All Blacks can secure the Bledisloe Cup for a 15th consecutive year by beating the Wallabies on Saturday. They have called up wing Nehe Milner-Skudder, full-back David Havili, prop Kane Hames, loose forward Akira Ioane and apprentice prop Atu Moli to the squad today.
The All Blacks aren't taking too much notice of the "demise" of Australian rugby. They are expecting an inspired Aussie team after their second half comeback this past Saturday.
"I think they will probably come at us a bit more with a bit more physicality," said Retallick.
"In the first 50 minutes [in Sydney] our ball carriers were getting in behind them and finding some seams there, so no doubt, especially up front, they will be trying to take us on a bit more."
