Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes Manchester United history … in his medical

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC wasted little time in making a powerful statement on his arrival at Manchester United.

The Swedish superstar, who joined the Red Devils on a free transfer on Friday, broke the club’s power records during his medical at the club’s Aon Training Complex. And that’s official.

‘Making history already,’ United’s official Twitter account tweeted.

‘We can confirm Zlatan broke #mufc power records in tests during his medical. #ZlatanTime.’

While no score for the 34-year-old arrival from French champions Paris St Germain Paris was revealed, United fans will be impressed with the statement of intent from Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic , who retired from international football after Sweden were eliminated at the group stage of Euro 2016, has signed a one-year deal with an option for a further one worth £200,000 a week.

The move to Old Trafford will see him join forces with United boss Jose Mourinho again.

The Special One worked with Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan in 2008-09, a season in which the pair won Serie A and the striker was the league’s top-scorer with 25.

Ibrahimovic left Paris for Manchester after scoring 156 goals in 180 appearances.

During his illustrious career, Ibrahimovic has won 13 titles in four different countries over the last 15 seasons and finished runner-up twice with Ajax in 2003 and AC Milan in 2012
