YASIN BEN EL-MHANNI is close to quitting Newcastle as the club’s Peter Beardsley bullying investigation drags on.
Moroccan winger El-Mhani filed a grievance complaint against Beardsley over the way he claims he was being treated by the former England star.

But Newcastle have been dragging their heels making a decision on the case, leading to El-Mhani’s role at St James’ Park becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
Now Premier League strugglers Stoke and Championship promotion hopefuls Wolves and Cardiff have made contact over a possible move this month.
The 22-year-old has been desperate to prove a success at Newcastle after they plucked him from non-league football two years ago.
Despite his alleged problems with Beardsley as his academy coach, boss Rafa Benitez drafted him into his first team side twice last season after being impressed by his ability.

But his progress in the North-East has stalled in recent months following clashes with Beardsley, forcing him to file an official complaint late last year.
Since then other players within the system have made allegations of racist behaviour from the ex-Newcastle and Liverpool forward.

But the club’s internal inquiry is now dragging on and El-Mhani is thought to be becoming increasingly frustrated that the club are failing to make a ruling.
Newcastle had signalled they wanted to hand the winger, who has made two first team appearances, a new deal but those talks are on hold at the moment.

Championship leaders Wolves were the first to come forward showing an interest in snapping up the London-born player who has six months left on his current deal.
But Premier League Stoke have also checked on his situation as they look to bring in players to help their battle to avoid relegation.

And Cardiff are the latest to check on the availability of El-Mhani as manager Neil Warnock looks to bolster his options as his club chase automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Beardsley currently remains suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, but vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
