WWE fans have received a positive update on the health of wrestling legend Kamala.
The Ugandan Giant, one of the biggest stars in the company in the 1980s and early 90s, underwent emergency surgery earlier this week.

However, PWInsider is now reporting that he is breathing on his own and is now awake and alert after being removed from the ventilator.
Kamala, who has had both legs amputated in the past due to problems with diabetes, is still unable to talk due to still having a tube in his mouth.
But the outlook is looking much better for the ring icon.

His stepdaughter Juanita James had been keeping his supporters updated on the veteran’s condition through Facebook.
She revealed that doctors thought the towering Harris would not pull through his latest scare.

Most wrestling fans would remember Kamala for his feud with the Undertaker in 1992 where he was defeated at SummerSlam 1992.
He then lost again to the Phenom at Survivor Series in a casket match before leaving and joining WCW in 1995 and last wrestling in 2010.
He also enjoyed some epic bouts with Hulk Hogan in the 1980s to become one of the biggest villains in the business.
